How to succeed quickly

  1. Start with people who know you: family, friends, your neighbourhood, the businesses where you are a customer.
  2. Always carry a website on your phone to show: the example one at first, later your own (your portfolio).
  3. Build it right there: seeing their own website with their own name and photos convinces more than any explanation.
  4. When you finish, ask them to recommend you to another business.

How the money flows

  • You send them the payment link on WhatsApp and the customer pays on their own phone, directly to Palimpalem.
  • You get your commission as soon as the customer pays. We create the invoice for you.
  • The customer pays 180 € + VAT in the first year, with the website set up at their business. From the second year, 120 € + VAT. A .com or .es domain included.

And their domain?

  • On day one, the website is already online at a temporary address, for example javierelectrician.palimpalem.com.
  • If the business has no domain, we register one for them (.com or .es), included in the price. As soon as it is active, the website moves to their domain.
  • If they already have a domain, we handle the transfer for free, including requesting the code. Until then the website stays at the temporary address, and their old website is not switched off until the customer decides.
  • The domain is always in the name of the business, never in yours or ours.

Do I need tech skills?

No. The website is built by talking to a chat. You take photos and answer.

What exactly am I selling?

Everything in one package: the website, hosting, a .com or .es domain and technical upkeep. Your customer needs nothing and nobody else.

And the changes they ask for later?

Editing texts, adding products, new photos: you agree on that directly with your customer and charge for it yourself, 100 % yours. It is a deal between you and them; Palimpalem only provides the platform. How to invoice it depends on your situation; ask a gestoría or tax adviser.

Who is behind Palimpalem?

Palimpalem has been online since 2004 and more than 1.4 million websites have been created with it. It is run by Martin Schenk S.L., a small company in Madrid with no investors.

Can I talk to Martin?

How do I get paid?

You enter your details and IBAN in your partner area. We create the invoice for you and transfer the money.

Does my own business count?

Your own business does not count as a sale. Businesses of family, friends and acquaintances do.

Do I need to be self-employed (autónomo)?

General information, not legal or tax advice. As of October 2026, no guarantee.

You can sign up and start without being registered as self-employed (autónomo). When the customer pays, we pay your commission. Whether you need to register in your case depends on your activity, for example on whether you do it regularly. That is not our call: ask a gestoría or the tax office (Hacienda).

If you register, this is how it works today in Spain:

  • What it costs: if it is your first registration (or you have not been self-employed in the last 2 years), you pay a reduced fee of 80 € a month for 12 months, the tarifa plana, plus a small contribution (MEI) of a few euros. If you earn less than the minimum wage in the first year, it can be extended for another 12 months.
  • How to register: online, with Cl@ve or a digital certificate. First with the tax office (form 036), then with Social Security in Import@ss. You tick the tarifa plana when you register: it cannot be requested afterwards.
  • How to deregister: whenever you want, also online. In Import@ss within 3 days of stopping, and with the tax office on form 036 within the following month.
  • The numbers: one website a month (150 €) already covers the 80 € fee.
